The person behind the thinking
David
Solomon
Founder & Creator of Professional Decision-Making
David Solomon is the founder and creator of Professional Decision-Making — a discipline that begins with the person making the decision.

01The question
Why do capable people decide badly?
Over decades of work with leaders, one question kept returning: why do intelligent, experienced people — with good data and good intentions — still make poor decisions?
The answer was rarely a lack of knowledge. It sat inside the decision-maker: in experience that had hardened into habit, in assumptions no one had examined, in emotion that went unrecognized.
02The work
Thirty years where decisions matter.
David’s work in organizational consulting and executive development has taken him into global corporations including IBM, Arrow Electronics, Nova and Unilever; into banking, working with thousands of bank managers; and into the Israeli Air Force, with combat pilots and military commanders.
Different worlds, the same pattern: the quality of the outcome depends on the quality of the person deciding.
03The discipline
Professional Decision-Making.
PDM is the result: a disciplined way to understand the decision-maker before improving the decision. It stands on four legs — goal clarity, value base, information analysis and emotional regulation — and offers a structured process for navigating decisions, the PDM Navigation Tool, alongside a body of principles David has developed for creating, not only making, decisions.
04The book
I Decide.
David is the author of “I Decide”, part of his wider work on how leaders take ownership of the decisions that shape them and their organizations.
